Work Experience Opportunity for Students

If you are studying in an Australian university and looking for work experience in DAFF (Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Australia) you may be interested in applying for the 2008 University Vacation Employment Programme (UVEP).

The UVEP is a six weeks paid work placement where university students are employed to complete a specific work project for the department. Students are employed as non-ongoing full-time employees at DAFF Band 1, Work Level1 and will start on Monday 7 January 2008 and finish on Friday 15 February 2008.

The UVEP is an entry level employment programme designed to give students an introduction to APS and the department. During the programme, students will discover more about the department’s employment opportunities and will be encouraged to consider applying for the Graduate Development Programme (GDP) upon completion of their studies.

During 2008, the Department will be offering 17 diverse projects to students across a variety of disciplines.

An application form and project description can be found in the jobs section of the DAFF website. For further information, please contact Tammy Isbister on 02 62723118 or tammy.isbister@daff.gov.au

Applications must be submitted by 10 am Tuesday 23 October 2007.
