I am very pleased to inform you that the following motion which I moved on 8-Mar-2010 at our Council meeting was seconded by Liberal Councillor Andrew Wilson and was passed by the overwhelming majority. Before passing the motion a very good discussion took place on this motion.

"The Motion:
That Council receives the report on the naming of a Road in Dhaka, Bangladesh after an Australian, the Late AWS Ouderland who fought the liberation war in Bangladesh.
That Council formally thanks the Mayor of Dhaka City Corporation by issuing a letter of thanks by the Lord Mayor. The letter to be copied to the High Commissioner of Australia in Bangladesh, Bangladesh High Commissioner in Australia, Australian Minister of Foreign Affairs."
