Condolence message at the death of Justice K M Subhan Dear friends, colleagues, and community members Bangabandhu Society (Parishad) expresses its deepest sorrow at the recent death of Justice K. M. Subhan, the President of Bangabandhu Parishad in Bangladesh. Justice Subhan has been a prominent personality in Bangladesh and internationally. Apart from his professional achievements as a High Court Judge and an Adbassador to Poland, Justice Subhan played a very important role in defence of the Liberation War ideals and other progressive causes. He was a brave person who did not hesitate to take positions that would put him at risk. His courageous stand as a Judge against the martial law in the late 1970s that cost him his job is a monumental history in Bangladesh. He made substantial contributions to the propagation of human rights nationally, regionally, and globally, where he held important positions. There are few such people combining progressive ideals, intellect, and courage. His death is an irreparable loss for us all and the cause of democracy, secularism, and human rights. Bangabandhu Parishad offers its sincere condolences to Justice Subhan's wife, family members, friends, and innnumerable admirers in Bangladesh and abroad. We hope that the memory of Justice Subhan will live on, and members of the younger generation will find inspiration from his work, idealism, and courage. May the Almighty bestow peace on his departed soul.
