Yes he can! Arka Dasgupta came to Australia with his parents (Deepa and columnist Ajoy Dasgupta) as a Bengali immigrant in 1996 when he was 8 years old. His interest in acting began in high school where he performed Macbeth at the Regional Shakespeare festival and consequently went on to win first in the duologue category next year for Romeo and Juliet at the state Shakespeare festival. He also took part in Layla and Majnun for the Ashfield Youth Theatre in 2004. He also performed in The Club and Woman in Black for his high school. He also performed in many plays at the university for DRAMAC Society including Guards Guards! and A Midsummer Nights Dream. His short film credits include The Silver Platter, The Perfect Girl and Jagdish Ji (screened at Flickerfest Sydney 2010). His latest theatre credits include References to Salvador Dali Make Me Hot, at the SWB Stables Theatre and currently he is also performing in Animals Out of Paper at the Ensemble Theatre which has been recieving a lot of critical acclaim in 2010.
