 AussieNSUers have earned yet another feather in their cap by organizing the extravagant NSU Alumni Night for the first time in Australia. AussieNSUers is the official representative body of ex NSU students and faculties to represent North South University across Australia. It was formed back in 2011 by some visionary ex NSU students intended to create a common platform for its members to stay in touch and empower each other. During its last reunion, the honourable chairman of NSU Trust Mr. Benajir Ahmed and the Vice Chancellor Professor Amin Sarkar jointly expressed their inclination to visit Australia with the commitment to support all Alumni living abroad. A large number of graduates living in Australia often need support in relation to certification of degrees and visa documentation and validation both for further studies and employment purposes. The Alumni Night was held in Macquarie University, Sydney on Friday 24th April 2015. The evening came to live with the spontaneous participation of hundreds of registered Alumni and Academics from University of NSW, University of Western Sydney, University of Wollongong, Macquarie University to name a few. The president of the association Shahidur Rahman did the inaugural speech where he briefly introduced the association and shed some light on its current and future agendas. Then came the highlight of the night where the General Secretaery Fuad Islam requested the honourable guests Mr. Benajir Ahmed, Chairman of NSU Trust, and Professor Amin U Sarker, Vice Chancellor NSU, to come up on the podium. Their presence were joyfully cheered by the Alumni. Both the guests reiterated their stern commitment to support the Alumni and also praised Aussie NSUers for being the Australian chapter of the Alumni Association of NSU (AANSU). They said as committed NSU has already established a new Alumni Office at the University in Dhaka dedicated to provide assistance to the Alumni.For this event we would like to mention few names for their special contribution to make it a great success. Thanks Nahid Kamal, Muqtasid Alam, Khandakar Rahman, Nowroz Moyeen, Imroz Moyeen, Ali Kamran, Shirajul Islam Sagor, Maroof Hossain, Evan Awal. Finally the gathering ended with a delightful full fledged dinner. It was well and truly a rewarding get together. Along with the President and the Vice Chancellor, the Delegation from NSU had Mrs Rehaha Rahman Member NSU Trust, Mrs Yasmin Kamal Member NSU Trust, and Mr Faisal Wali Director CPDS, Office of External Affairs NSU. NSU Alumni was represented by Shahidur Rahman President, Asad Zaman Vice President, Newaz M A Hasan Treasurer, Fuad Islam General Secretary along with other members of the executive body.
