Potassium (K)

Potassium atomPotassium videos
Alkali metal Sodium and Potassium are among the top 10 most mass-abundant elements in the Earth's crust
(Na 2.5%; K 2.0%). Sodium and potassium compounds have been known since ancient times. All alkali metals
occur in nature exclusively in the form of positively charged ions as constituents of a broad variety of
minerals and salts. Sodium and potassium metals were made for the first time by electrolysis of NaOH and
KOH (Humphry Davy, 1807).
