Dr Nargis Banu`s father passed away
Dr Nargis Banu`s father Mr Syed Ahmed has passed away in Dhaka yesterday (11-Mar-2009) at the age of 85. Dr Banu (director of Voice of Bangladesh Radio program) with her daughter, Nabila (9) has left for Bangladesh at noon today to attend his funeral. Mr Syed Ahmed was a succesful teacher and a respected head master. He will be survived by his eleven children and thousands of students at home and abroad. We pray for his departed soul.

Bangladeshi Girl Wins Turkish Music Award!
Afrida Musarrat Mamun (Prieta), daughter of Mahmuda Runu and Abu Syed Mohammed Mamun of Holsworthy is a student of year eight at the Sule College (Turkish School) in Preston (South-west Sydney). On 28-Mar-2009, Saturday, Prieta participated in a talent quest called the Australia wide Turkish Olympiad. Her Turkish song won the competition. As the winner of the first prize she will represent Australia in the worldwide competition in Istanbul later this year.
