Abdur Rahim Mollah Passed Away
We are very shocked to announce the sudden death of Abdur Rahim Mollah of Ingleburn today (4-Jul-2007) at around 4:45 pm. (Innalilla...rajeun). Apparently he suffered a massive heart attack while jogging this afternoon. An ambulance was called by the people on the street. He was pronounced dead on the way to hospital. An active member of Bangladesh Welfare Scociety Campbelltown, Abdur Rahim Mollah was a very capable man and a dedicated community worker. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and the Bangladeshi community. We pray for his departed soul.

Janaza and Dowa Mahfil
Late Abdur Rahim Mollah Namaz-e-Janaaza was held at the Minto mosque on Friday (6-Jul-2007) after Jumma prayer. It was attended by over 2000 people. His body was not released by the authorities in time so it was held as a `Gaebi Janaza`. A Dowa and Milad Mahfil has been organised for Abdur Rahim Mollah on Saturday, 7-Jul-2007, after Magrib prayer at the Macquarie Fileds Community Hall, Saywell Rd. Macquarie Fields. His body was taken to Lakemba Mosque (Wangee Rd, Lakemba) on Sunday (8-Jul-2007). A 2nd Janaza was held there after Magrib prayer. His body will be taken to Bangladesh for burial. - Masood Chowdhury

The publication is an initiative of the current President of Bangladesh, Professor Iajuddin Ahmed. It is a scholarly work, and a major step towards writing institutional history of our region. Amia Matin`s Father Died in Sydney.
Mr. Nurul Huda (67), father of well known singer Amia Matin passed away in her Holsworthy house yesterday (25/7/07) at around 11 AM (innalilla...razeun). Retired director of Bangla Academy, Mr. Nurul Huda came to Sydney a month ago to visit his daughter's family. Father of two Hr. Huda's wife died some years ago. His other daughter lives in Bangladesh. Mr. Huda will be buried in Sydney.

His Namaj-e-Janaja will be held at 1 pm on Friday (27-Jul-2007) at the Lakemba mosque after Jumma prayer.

A Doa mehfil will be held for Mr. Nurul Huda on Saturday 28-Jul-2007 at 2 pm at the Macquaire Field Community Hall (5 Fields Street).

On behalf of bangla-sydney we express our sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to Amia Matin and her family.

Mr. Nurul Huda`s burial - not today
Mr. Nurul Huda's burial is not happening today. His only other daughter, who lives in Bangladesh, is on her way to Sydney. The family has decided to wait for her arrival. His Namaj-e-janaj and Doa Mehfil will go ahead as planned.
